Cold Front Brings Storms, Heat to Lackawanna County

A cold front is expected to move through Lackawanna County from the northwest to the southeast late this morning and continue into the afternoon. The front will bring scattered thunderstorms and showers, with some storms possibly becoming strong or severe. Damaging wind gusts and heavy rain are expected, which may lead to isolated flash flooding in areas east and south of the Finger Lakes.

Despite the approaching front, high heat and humidity will persist across Northeast Pennsylvania through the late afternoon, with heat indices reaching the mid to upper 90s. The information was released by the Lackawanna County Emergency Management Agency, and the National Weather Service in Binghamton, NY, provided additional details.
