Albany County Legislature officials have highlighted several accomplishments from 2025. Chair Joanne Cunningham, Deputy Chair Wanda Willingham, Legislative Black Caucus Chair Dr. Carolyn McLaughlin, and Democratic Majority Leader Dennis Feeney outlined key initiatives that included efforts on the Housing Agenda, expansion of the Capital Center, and local laws requiring water notifications and addressing the use of flare guns.

The Legislature also reported on grant programs established to support anti-bullying education, tobacco use prevention, and women’s health programs. Additional funding was allocated for public parks and playgrounds, as well as programming for youth, individuals with disabilities, seniors, and veterans. A review of the Legislative Black Caucus’s work and preparations for the 2026 budget were also detailed.
