Masami victorious in New York State tennis championship first round

Masami, a student from Albany High School in Albany, New York, won the first round of the New York State singles tennis championship with a score of 6-3, 6-3 on Friday morning.

The senior student was also honored with the Section 2 Sportsmanship Award before the tournament began.

Next, Masami will face the tournament's top seed, Drew Fishback from Geneva, at 2 p.m.
