Community Center Celebrates AAPI Heritage Month with Albany Visit.

Apna Brooklyn Community Center in Brooklyn, New York marked #AAPIHeritageMonth with a visit to Albany on May 21. The team was there to observe the passage of the AAPI resolution. They toured the capitol building and met with State Senator Iwen Chu to discuss uplifting their community. The CEO, Erum Hanif, was honored with an AAPI Leadership Award. The experience provided an opportunity for the team to engage with state legislators and representatives of the AAPI community. It was a celebration of democracy and a chance for the community center to advocate on behalf of their community.
